" On the way to the Fort Church", 29 x 37 cm oil on panel by Shinhuey Ho (Taiwan). Winning painting of the international category in 2019.

Shinhuey Ho is the first artist to win the Plein Air Curaçao Paint-Out Competition twice in a row. Despite being reluctant to participate the second time, her painting managed to snatch the winning position once again. She painted in an alley in Punda which was pretty captivating to other artists to paint as well.

Shinhuey Ho’s (Taiwan) work hangs in corporate and private collections in the U.S., Trinidad & Tobago, Germany, Australia, Scotland and Taiwan. She is known for her striking portrait paintings, including a commissioned portrait of the former Prime Minister of Trinidad & Tobago, Kamla Persad-Bissessar. Shinhuey also enjoys painting outdoors on location. Shinhuey’s current work is inspired by her life in the sunny Caribbean islands of Trinidad & Tobago. In addition to painting the land and sea under the brilliant tropical sun, she also loves to capture the country’s beautiful people from diverse ethnic and cultural heritage.

Shinhuey was born and raised in Taiwan. She holds an MBA degree from Purdue University in Indiana, USA. Having lived in the U.S. for nine years and now residing in Trinidad, she considers herself a citizen of the world.
