Marianne Hagedoorn, en plein air at Velas Latinoamérica 2022.

In this pop-up art exhibition people get to relive the Velas Latinoamérica Curacao Tallships in 2022. During this 6-day Festival local artists had the amazing opportunity to paint these nautical Tall ships that visit Curacao every 4 years. With oils, watercolor, pastel and other media these artists really depicted the beauty of the ships and the vibe of this fun event. Resulting into a beautiful collection of paintings.

Art Foundation Curacao once again exhibits paintings of

the velas latinoamerica

tallships

It all started in 2018. It was devised to have the Tall Ships painted “En Plein Air” by local artists during their visit to Curacao and to revive the enjoyment of their presence through an exhibition after the ships departed. It was a resounding success and therefore worth repeating in 2022. Thanks to the good cooperation with the Tall Ships Organization “Velas LatinoAmerica Curacao” and Curacao Port Authorities, this has become reality again.

The tall ships of Mexico, Brazil and Uruguay were a great inspiration for our local artists. During this 6-day Festival each artist balanced the visit of the tall ship from their perspective, inspiration and style.
