Marijke van Balen is born in Holland, Nijmegen in 1958.
Her themes are classic : the portrait, the still life and the landscape.
She learned to love the art of painting from her father, who was also a painter. She followed the painting teacher training and the Art academy in Holland. Now she gives lessons in Italy and in Holland.
Her studio is in Nijmegen where she gives lessons and where she works on commissioned portraits and free work.
