Sandra Nunes
An award winning contemporary Brazilian artist from Rio de Janeiro, Sandra Nunes is in love with her native city, her main source of inspiration. Strolling through its urban, suburban and bucolic sites, she interprets and recreates passionately the relationship between shapes and colors, testifying the routine of its inhabitants.
Most of her work is en plein air, done in one or more painting sessions in oil, soft pastels, charcoal or watercolor. Wherever there is something that catches her attention and touches her soul, she is compelled to paint and share.
Her light filled paintings have been featured in prominent art publications and can be found in several private/public corporations collections (in Brazil and abroad).
The artist teaches group workshops in her studio and en plein air around the world.
“Plein Air Painting has a special poetic. It is challenging, demanding from the artist an extreme professionalism in search of more satisfactory results. Besides technique, it is essential the knowledge and understanding that art can come from the sensitive nature without being just a copy. I hope my paintings are not just iconographic representations, but reflect also a deep insight into the subject. Some of these works may display the beauty I see in Nature and the passion for the pigments whether oil, pastel or charcoal. A painting with integrity speaks for itself.”

Carlos Hiller
Artist Carlos Hiller devotes his artwork to depict underwater scenes. He was born in Argentina in 1972. From early childhood, he has shown special interest in studying painting, music, and biology, and during his restless early years, he traveled to remote places throughout South America and survived river journeys in rudimentary rafts, lived with native ethnics groups and gold prospectors in the Amazonia and Darién Jungle.
Motivated by this personal deep search, he moves from studying Marine Biology to exploring during many years ancient and modern artistic techniques, applying them to his underwater scenes paintings, getting an extraordinary sense of deepness and dimension.
As an avid diver and snorkeler, he often goes to the ocean to find the fascinating marine life that populates his creations.
Inge Leonora-den Ouden
Plein Air Artist
I started painting in watercolors after inheriting her father's watercolor-kit in 1984. Before that year drawing was my hobby, since my early childhood. I am mostly autodidact, I followed one year of education to become a drawing-teacher (did not finish that school).
As well as my father before me, I like drawing and watercolor-painting outdoors, from real life subjects. I discovered that's callled 'Plein Air' when I visited Curaçao and I found out they had a festival for it. So I joined Plein Air Curaçao since the second edition. I enjoyed it and back in the Netherlands started with Urban Sketching (which is Plein Air sketching).
About my art and style, this is what Milli tells about it:
“Inge's work has a graphic, almost naive, quality that nevertheless brilliantly captures an important moment. Her work is filled with obvious passion, it is clear she loves what she does from the effort she puts into every single piece. The colors she chooses reflect either her subjects emotions or her own. This is what separates her from many other artists, who tend to copy what they see, rather

Tiffanie Mang
Tiffanie Mang is an illustrator and plein air artist born and raised in San Diego. She studied at the University of Southern California, graduating with a BA in Animation and Digital Arts in 2014. Aside from working in the animation industry as a freelance concept artist and illustrator, her biggest passion is plein air painting and painting landscapes in oils.
n 2016, Tiffanie worked as a painter animator on Loving Vincent, the world's first fully hand painted feature film in oils, which was also a 2018 Oscar nominee for Best Animated Feature Film. Flying over to Gdansk, Poland to take an animation test in May, she worked on the film for 6 months while living in the country. It was an absolutely incredible experience that changed the direction of her life. Being surrounded by so many talented international fine artists, Tiffanie knew that when she went back to the states, she had to somehow pursue her passion for fine art more and make it a reality.
That is why after living in LA for seven years freelancing as a concept artist for various studios, she moved back to San Diego to pursue her passion as a fine artist and secured her new studio space— Studio 15— art Art on 30th. She is very excited to make a reality what really brings the biggest smile to her face- drowning in oil paint or painting outside onsite. To Tiffanie, the thrill of plein air is something that will always be unmatched- she loves and revels in the time restraint and the fact that she is capturing something raw and pristine in front of her with her own colors.

Designer and artist, Diane Joy Laird, is the owner of Simple Joys LLC. Diane’s “signature style” combines watercolor and pen/ink to create paintings that exhibit rich color, transparency, and meaningful subject matter in a realistic context. Her background in architectural detailing and perspective drawing, along with her current profession in downtown revitalization, naturally directs much of her work toward historic architecture, although she finds that a wide variety of imagery and subject matter keep things lively and enjoyable. Her work evokes a sensory and meaningful response in the viewer…joy!
Much of Diane’s work currently focuses on Delaware and Eastern Shore Maryland, though she travels frequently and enjoys the variety that other locations and seasons bring. Diane often paints outdoors with other artists, and has recently painted “en plein air” in Delaware, Maryland and most recently in the highly acclaimed, week-long outdoor painting event Plein Air Easton (July 2014.)

Katy Branum
Born an island girl, water and light has always fascinated me. Often described by painters as the most difficult topics to paint, I am attracted to their delicate dance. Here on Curaçao, we are given unlimited opportunities to capture these powerful elements that stir an artist’s soul.
When I look at a scene, I am enthralled by the challenge. I find that it is not until I have mastered this unique dance that each painting truly comes to life.
I hope that you enjoy the paintings I have created, each one is unique and one of a kind.
I am available to do commissions, so if you have a colour scheme in your home that you would like to match, or a seascape that you have photographed and wish to have transformed into a painting, I would be delighted to work with you.
Thank you for your interest, please follow me on Instagram.

Tanja Hummel
My name is Tanja Hummel. My work is autodidact and I do not let myself be hindered by rules. By following Masterclasses and to join me by a painters group as well in the Netherlands (Kunstkring dePloeg) and Curacao (Painting Friday Morning), I am stimulated to develop my technique and material use. Standing on markets and hold exhibitions, is always cozy and you meet colleaques with whom you can exchange tips! Recently I have completed the following assignments; a canvas of 3X6 meter as back wall decor, three paintings hang in a reception hall on Curacao, and a mussel-logo for serving planks at a mussel-party on Curacao. And more. That way I can let people enjoy my work, there is no color without art! My moto: “your imagination is the power of my art!”. I live partly in the Netherlands and on Curacao. This is how I get inspiration from the best of both!

My grandmothers were both artists and my parents provided me with various art supplies growing up. I was taught to appreciate many forms of art. I have many favorite artists now and there are too many to name but living artists include Richard Schmidt, Tibor Nagy, Jeremy Mann, Kim English, and Dan McCaw. Deceased influences include John Singer Sargent, Anders Zorn, and Joaquin Sorolla.
My education includes a rigorous course of independent study reading many books on drawing and painting and taking workshops from respected artists such as Vadim Zanginian, Kim English, and Clayton Beck III. While earning a degree in biology with emphasis on anatomy in the early 1990's, I also studied art history and ceramics.
I work in oils and prefer figurative work but enjoy painting many different subjects.
One of my goals is to say more with a painting that can be said with a photograph. I want to help others see the beauty in everyday objects, places, and people as I see them.

Juan Carlos Ruiz Soto
Juan Carlos Ruiz Soto was born in San José, Costa Rica in 1974.
Although born in the city, he grew up in rural areas. His family was devoted to farming; it inspired his taste for the simple life and his love for nature.
In childhood, he was surrounded by the natural environment, his play space was farms where there were rivers and forests.
In his artistic work he develops organic themes. He enjoys what is maleable, what flows, grows and changes. He is attracted and captivated by nature and its vital atmosphere: the sound of water, the wind in the trees, the vivid colors of nature and the changes that take place according to the light and the season._
_
His intention is not to represent these aspects by himself, but rather reflect in his paintings what gives him the sensations that are born inside of him by being surrounded by nature. Juan Carlos wants the viewer of his work to turn their eyes to the origin, to the true reality, even if only for a very short time away from their hurried life.

Jody Rigsby
I am living my dream. In April 2016, my husband and I sold our house in Lakewood, Colorado and most of our possessions. We bought a truck, a 36-foot trailer and hit the road. He is a graphic designer and I paint. We have no idea how long this adventure will take but we are having an amazing time. Every day is a new day and it brings people, places and things that we get to experience for the first time. It is a constant reminder of how much our world is filled with beauty and bottomless inspiration.
I love to create. I will look at a subject and I think to myself, what is it in that “thing” that makes me want to bring it to the canvas? I identify the voice that is calling out. Sometimes its feelings, or a connection between two subjects, or even a color combination that I must try and replicate. I find that my background in quilting and teaching art to children, gave me an interesting goal when I started painting. Can I mix the patterns and colors of fabric and harness the inhibition of young people into a more traditional way of painting? Using oil paint in thick texture and thin layers and applying it with many different brushes and palette knives is what I feel keeps my work fresh looking. The connection between things, the vibration between the shapes, those spaces are very exciting to me. My fascination lies in the relationship between color, texture, and line in context to the subject. The stuff that goes on in the smaller parts of the painting gets the question “Does each inch create a little poem or story? I also ask myself, do the patterns weave in and out without distraction? Does it look like a complete painting when I step back and look at it as a whole? I paint paintings of subjects that make me feel wondrous and joy, and my goal is to spread a little happiness.
I attended Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design, receiving a degree in Graphic Design. Now focusing on fine art I have attended workshops from Dan Beck, Kim English, Nura Mascareñas, Michelle Torrez, Mitch Caster and Melinda Morrison, as well as classes at the Art Students League of Denver

My watercolors can often be described as bold, with colorful themes that often border on whimsical. It evokes lightness and has an overall impressionistic style. My oil's on the other hand, are strictly palette-knife renderings that produce deeper lines with bold coloring and definition. Both styles are used to depict the breath taking the beauty of my Island home.
Some of my most recent juried competitions include:
First Prize - Chilliwack, British Columbia - Harvest Festival [2009]
Honorable Mention - Montague, Prince Edward Island - Plein Air Festival [2015]
